The 32nd Congress of the Polish Soil Science Society
“Healthy soils – a secure future”
30 August – 4 September 2027 – Krakow
The Congress is organised by the Polish Soil Science Society, whilst the Kraków Branch of the Society is directly responsible for organising the event; this branch brings together, amongst others, researchers from the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków and the Jagiellonian University. The Congress will be a joint endeavour of Kraków’s soil science community, continuing a long-standing tradition of research into soil and the environment.
The Congress motto, ‘Healthy soils – a secure future’, highlights the importance of soil as one of the fundamental yet finite resources of the environment. The condition of soils determines, amongst other things, food security, the quality and availability of water, the preservation of biodiversity, the functioning of ecosystems and their capacity to mitigate the effects of climate change. The Congress will therefore not only serve as a forum for the exchange of scientific knowledge, but also as a venue for discussing practical solutions aimed at soil protection and the responsible management of environmental resources.
